PROJECT

Fig. 1.1.1, group member, week 14 (2025/12/30)

Our minor project course is a group project, so we formed groups at the beginning. The above is our group roster after week fourteen. Because some members dropped out, our group's progress wasn't smooth at first.

Our group chose to research the intelligent control of a 5G robot dog spraying mosquito repellent.

Fig. 1.1.3, background research, week 14 (2025/12/30)

We first conducted a detailed background analysis of the topic, mainly studying current social needs and pain points, and proposed several ideas for improving the operation of robot dogs.

Afterwards, we had our first meeting with the client in class to understand the shortcomings and areas that needed to be improved.

We then identified our target users, the apartment management, and the spraying workers. We also created interview drafts and personas.

After that, we gave our first presentation. The client and professor pointed out that our research should focus on UI design. So we went back and began to focus on UI design and Figma prototyping.

REFLECTION

experiences:
Throughout the semester, we formed a group and worked together to complete tasks. The process wasn't smooth; in fact, it was quite difficult. There were many disagreements within our group, and we almost disbanded, which of course wasn't allowed. So, we ultimately had to work together to solve all the problems. Ouyang Chenxi and I encouraged each other throughout, and I also helped her with the most difficult parts. It's hard to believe we persevered.

observations:
The biggest challenge is that you can't try to wake someone who's pretending to be asleep. In group projects, if someone ignores your needs or overuses AI to create content, you should realize that communicating with them is extremely difficult; it's better to just complete their part. Even if this increases your workload, you don't want to fail on this project.

findings:
I learned a lot, such as interpersonal skills and task allocation, as well as many character virtues, like patience, tolerance, and the ability to wait. Most importantly, I experienced cross-disciplinary collaboration for the first time. I believe that the integration of design and engineering will be very common in my future work.
