What is kinetic typography?
Definition: Kinetic typography is "the art of moving text," applying motion design to typography to tell stories and convey emotions through dynamic layout. It belongs to temporal typography, meaning the text changes and changes over time, rather than appearing statically.
1. Motion Typography
Letters or words move relative to each other in a 2D or 3D plane;
Their original shape remains unchanged, they simply move in, out, scale, and rotate;
The focus is on maintaining readability.
2.Fluid Typography
Text can transform into graphics or other words;
It is a more creative and symbolic form of expression.
It focuses on structural changes rather than just displacement.
Design Principles
1. Maintain Relativity
-Maintain relative relationships between text elements.
2. Optimize Readability
-Maintain clear and legible font size, line spacing, and layout.
3. Optimize Effect Duration
-Animation duration should be just right, conveying emotion without being tedious.
4. Manage Emotion
-Color, rhythm, and transitions all affect the viewer's emotions.
5. Maintain Linearity
-The order in which text appears should conform to human linear reading habits.
6. Motion Sensitivity
-Be mindful of user sensitivity to excessive animation to avoid causing discomfort.
7. Optimize Accessibility
-Consider the needs of colorblind individuals and those using assistive reading devices.
8. Bandwidth Constraints
-Consider loading speed and the limitations of viewer attention span.
9. Fallback States
-Provide a static backup version if the animation fails to load.
WEEK 4
In this lesson, we finalized Part 1 and exported the task as required.
PART 1 (10%):
Size Resolution: 1280 x 720 (HDTV) 25fps
Format: Quicktime (.MOV) or (.MP4)
Duration: 8 sec
FEEDBACK
After completing Part 1, I began to conceive how to create Part 2. Undoubtedly, having deepened my understanding of the eight motion graphics, I had full confidence to begin Part 2.
