Unity
- Do all the parts belong to the same whole?
- Using similar elements and a coordinated layout can create a sense of harmony and integrity.
- Conversely, variety adds interest through contrasting elements.
Balance
- Is the image visually balanced?
- Symmetrical structures bring a sense of tranquility; asymmetrical structures create dynamism.
Movement
- Create a sense of movement through the arrangement of objects, the posture of figures, or flowing elements (such as rivers).
- Guide the viewer's visual direction and rhythm.
Rhythm
- Similar to the rhythm of music, a "viewing rhythm" is formed through repetitive and varied visual elements.
Focus/Emphasis
- Guide the viewer's attention to the "most important part" of the image.
- Without a focus, the vision feels lost.
Contrast
- Strong contrast of light and dark or color can create a strong visual impact;
- Weak contrast gives a soft and calm feeling.

| Fig. 1.1, practical, week 3 (2025/10/7) |
In this lesson, we progressed on the Part 1 task. During the class exercise, I created a short animation of rotating focus, hoping it might provide some inspiration.
FEEDBACK
When designing the focus animation, I had an inspiration. If we keep the center stationary and have other elements around it rotate multiple times, we might be able to create a great video dynamic effect.
