LECTURES

WEEK 4

In this class we will mainly conduct practical operations on Unity.
Since we learned how to create a basic lamp model in Week 2, we will use this lamp as an example to design basic interactions with it. We need to make it light up when you click "e" within a certain range.

To complete this basic interaction, we need to edit the code in scripts.
In SEM2, I took the Interaction Design course, so I have a basic understanding of coding. First, you need to name the code, then add properties and commands.

Within the set range, walk close to the light and click "e" to turn it on. After setting this code, just copy it and it will be fully applied to every light.

The second task is to create a block that can be interacted with (picked up). In order to make it stand out, I set the block to a red color to distinguish it from other objects.

FEEDBACK

In this class, we focused on summarizing the basic theories we learned in the previous three weeks, with the most crucial focus on basic interaction design in Unity. Since I was new to the software, I encountered many issues, including but not limited to code naming errors. Mr. Max patiently helped me resolve these issues, and I am very grateful for his help.
