REFLECTION
Experiences:
The whole process from Task 1 to Task 3 has given me a lot of gains, and it is also really tiring.
In Task 1, I learned eight basic types of typography. From that moment on, I felt something was wrong. Why can't I always make the poster I want to make? So I looked at the poster designs of masters in different styles every day, hoping to get some inspiration. Fortunately, I found my personal favorite style, simple and atmospheric, which also laid the foundation for the subsequent design.
In Task 2, my font design also continued the concept of "simplicity". Because the serif designed for the first time was not simple enough, I subtracted all the cumbersome designs. With YUNA's elegant design as the core, I tried to create a personal brand that matches my style. This stage is very interesting, as if you are really creating a new brand (maybe in the future?)
In Task 3, which is also the most recent task, in addition to completely designing a set of fonts, I also have to participate in a competition. This is undoubtedly very stressful, but thanks to Mr. Vinod's strictness, I am really afraid that I can't finish my assignments, so I always write it first. In the end, I still have plenty of time left.
Observations:
My biggest problem is that I am easily distracted. I would procrastinate on a task that I originally planned to finish in one day because of my distraction. Especially when I look at the poster, I can't help wanting to watch the movie. This is very wrong, so I restrain myself and can find more details of the poster, and analyze why this poster attracts me through the characters' positions, color tones, etc.
Findings:
Although I felt very painful every time I finished my homework, because I kept denying my ideas. But I really felt that every time I redid it, my skills improved. It may also be that I was training my ability to withstand pressure in advance for future work and cooperation with the client. But no matter what, on the road of graphic design, congratulations on taking a step forward. I will take more steps in the future, and the accumulated efforts will be rewarded one day.
