FINAL PROJECT
REFLECTION
Experiences:
During this semester, I learned how to write a paper from scratch. From choosing a topic to thinking about the research question, everything was a novel experience. Task one involved determining the research direction, task two involved critiquing it, and task three involved practical exploration. After going through these three steps, I gained a deeper understanding of how to write a paper.
Observations:
Because I had never encountered the APA format for writing a paper before, I had to learn everything from scratch, including but not limited to proper spacing and punctuation. This made me realize that I had a lot of knowledge gaps that needed to be filled, so I sought help from a native speaker to correct any formatting errors, hoping to make my paper more standardized.
Findings:
A thesis is a linear process. Once you've decided on your topic at the outset, changing any of the steps later is incredibly difficult. This is also true for most assignments, so the biggest lesson I've learned is to choose everything clearly from the outset and then stick to it. This applies to both thesis and life.
