REFLECTION

Experience:It is no exaggeration to say that the Typography class is the class that I put the most energy into this semester.Due to force majeure, I reported a week late. This made me nervous because I might miss classes. But thanks to online classes, I was able to catch up and create my blog and complete my assignments. In the beginning I was learning a ton of stuff, and I would watch lectures three or four times over in order to make sense of it all.But when I need to actually work on the actual design, I feel relaxed. From fonts to layout design, and finally completing the systematic fonts, this whole semester has benefited me a lot. I will fall in love with sketching, and I will also get used to using AI for digital design. Before I knew it, I had understood the process of creating a font from zero to one.Every week's homework has greatly trained me and improved my aesthetic taste. Everything is moving in the right and good direction.

Observations:Throughout the learning process, I found that the biggest difficulty was actually my English. If my English was better, I could understand the content of the class better, and I wouldn't have to watch the video again and again after class. Back to the point, the most difficult thing about the design course is that if you want to get a work that can pass the level, you have to design many versions of them. After the design is finished, you may also have to consider how to improve it, because it is estimated that it will not pass the next week without modification. This whole process sometimes makes me feel irritated, but it is essential to design, because design is about inspirations that appear and disappear one by one.

Findings:I like designing. Without a doubt, this is my biggest gain this semester. I am not a patient person, but the numerous design tasks did not make me feel bored. I even looked forward to every class so much that I arrived in the classroom early, which would never be the case for a course I don't like. In the design process, I will find that one idea after another is circling in my mind, and I need to capture them and put them in the right place. I love this feeling, and I like to present them. This is my biggest gain. I finally understand what I like and what I want to fight for.
