Outcome:

Fig3.1,Process of outcome 1

Fig3.2,Outcome 1
-ChenYuhan-TASK 3-Snow Pier-

The decisions made in the design:

1. Similar and conflicting colors: mainly use cold colors such as dark blue, purple, and white to emphasize the night and ocean environment, which contrasts with the warm yellow lights.
2. Golden composition: the wave trajectory follows the golden section line, and the position of the lights at the golden section point is eye-catching.
3. Emotional communication: the surging waves and swirling snowflakes symbolize difficulties and turbulence, while the lights represent stability or guidance in the blizzard environment, giving people hope.

The mean of the design:

Fig1.3 shows a scene that in a harsh environment there is still light and hope.
The contrast between the curved, irregular waves and the straight, stable lamp posts shows that there is still guidance in difficult situations. Snowflakes can be seen as obstacles because of their coldness, and they can also be seen as encouragement because of their beauty.

The design principles of the design:

Contrast: the warm light of the lamp contrasts with the cold blue, making it stand out.
Movement: the swirling waves, splashing water, and flying snowflakes create a sense of flow.
Emphasis: the bright lights act as a central focus, guiding the audience's eyes in a dynamic environment.

Fig3.3,Outcome 2
-ChenYuhan-TASK 3-Past Dream-

The decisions made in the design:

1. Enhance the glow effect: Add more fluorescence to create a light source similar to fireflies.
2. Add blur: Deepen the fusion of the waves and fluorescence, making it unclear, and further reflect the "dream" element.
3. Grain effect: Apply a grainy texture to add depth and surrealism to the image.

The mean of the design:

Fig1.4 is a development form of the sketch. In this work, I try to turn the rough sea into a cradle of peace. The graininess reminds me of my childhood memories, when the sea I saw in my grandma's stories was always gentle, and there were fireflies on the sea. As a scene in a dream, it can be dreamy enough.

The design principles of the design:

Harmony: Through the use of blur, the colors of the picture are similar, which increases the sense of security.
Emphasis: The brightest areas, especially the lights, act as focal points, immediately attracting the viewer's eye.
Movement:The swirling waves and scattered snowflakes create a dynamic and smooth sense of movement.

Fig3.4,Outcome 3
-ChenYuhan-TASK 3-Candy Fantasy-

The decisions made in the design:

1. Color shock - the original dark blue and dark tones have been replaced by bright cyan, pink and purple.
2. Candy elements - candy, candy canes, and lollipop patterns are integrated into the scene, showing a whimsical world.

The mean of the design:

Fig1.5 shows the transition from a stormy ocean scene to a dreamy candy sea. Without changing the basic composition, the elements of "candy" and "fantasy" are added. The swirling colors and hypnotic light create a sense of illusion. I also boldly used a variety of contrasting colors. The strong contrast between warm and cold tones suggests a space where natural elements and fantasy merge, reflecting a sense of surrealism.

The design principles of the design:

Movement: The swirling blue-purple waves roll up all the candies.
Contrast: The pink in the center of the picture contrasts with the blue around it, and the dark part in the center contrasts with the bright part around it.
Repetition: Spiral elements and candy elements appear repeatedly.

FEEDBACK

week 6:
I need more design ideas and different development directions. Modifications can be made from the perspectives of material, light and shadow, composition, color, etc.

week 7:
Ms.Jinchi chose Fig1.4 as the final outcome among my three outcomes. In order to get the best result, I need to add some references and complete the final tasks.
