WEEKLY LESSONS

Week 7:

Week 8:
This week, we had to give a surprise presentation. We needed to summarize each of our stories in concise yet complete language within a short timeframe. I was very nervous at first, but I finished fluently. The professor suggested that perhaps I could smile and use more body language. This would help engage the audience more with my presentation.

Week 9:
Online consultation

Week 10:
This week, the professor reviewed my presentation and offered several suggestions for improvement. First, my presentation had too few images; I could add more shots of the main character in different poses, such as while drawing, walking, or reading. Second, the world-building in my presentation was unclear; the scenes should ideally be hand-drawn or chosen to better reflect the story. Third, regarding the different art styles of the supporting characters, if they are characters from the audience's memories, they need to be clearly indicated so the audience understands why the style has changed.

Week 11:
I gave a project presentation. After the presentation, the professor offered further suggestions for revision. I then made the necessary corrections.

PROJECT 2

Project Two Requirements:

Fig. 1.2, requirement 2, week 7

My second project was based on the first. I retained most of the central plot, focusing more on the climax—the turning point where the protagonist breaks through the bleak reality to bravely pursue her dreams. This was a highly dramatic and conflict-driven plot, which greatly inspired me.

Having determined the central plot, I began to conceive the characters of the protagonist and supporting roles.

The protagonist is a thin, poor girl, so I gave her the most ordinary clothing and appearance. Her world at the beginning wasn't vibrant either, but rather a monotonous and dull existence. However, when she decides to pick up her paintbrush again to pursue her dreams, color will flow from her brush to the paper, and then to the entire world. This presentation would be truly wonderful.

With this idea in mind, I began to paint.

Lily was just an ordinary high school girl, wearing a uniform and sporting a neat short haircut. What set her apart was the way she held a pen; at that moment, she exuded confidence and radiance.

I also drew some supporting characters, including the grandmother who guides the characters' growth and the manager who brings them difficulties.
